Randy Kunze, Director of Maintenance for Grand Island Express acquired the Verifier Fleet Management System to test trailers in the yard early 2018. Grand Island Express located in Grand Island, Nebraska, runs 300+ refrigerated trailers hauling critical temperature loads in 28 states.
His objective was to identify vehicle problems in the lot for maintenance scheduling. With the Verifier, test reports from the yard are immediately available upon completion for creating work orders and scheduling saving considerable time. Parts, materials, and bay time assignment prior to moving the trailer has improved his shop operation and improved trailer uptime. As a result, road calls have been reduced for additional savings.
Significant improvement for shop scheduling was the automatic downloading trailer data and information in the report. Trailer airline loss, ABS faults, tire conditions, and electrical faults are flagged for repair as well as placing the trailer OOS. Visual inspections include notes and photos for physical issues.
Management reports show Randy the top 10 issues to address and see trends for further action. As the volume of reports increases, additional predictive analysis is available such as tire wear and failures.
Randy has added to the report specialty items such as refrigeration, tire inflation system, and weight gage inspection. With the Verifier app, every item must be inspected in a prescribed order requiring the technician to follow company practices. The technician with minimum help from LITE-CHECK has found the Verifier easy to use and intuitive producing over 300 reports per month.
New trailers can be bulk downloaded into the cloud platform with complete trailer identification and specifications. This greatly simplifies downloading the report header and directs the technician with correct information.
Randy was sold on the Verifier System within weeks with the enhanced productivity and is a believer.
